On 1 September 2016, Mr. Mark Loquan assumed office as President of The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC).
A Chemical Engineer by profession, Mr. Loquan acquired an MBA in 1990 from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, and received training in Executive Leadership and Management from Cornell University and IESE Business School (University of Navarra).
Mr. Loquan has over 30 years’ experience in the petrochemical industry. In 1982, he began his career in the energy sector as a Process Engineer at Trinidad Nitrogen Co. Ltd. He moved through various leadership positions before being appointed as the first local President of Hydro Agri Trinidad (now Yara Trinidad Ltd.) in 2002. In 2009, he was appointed President, Upstream Business Development for Angola/Sub-Saharan Africa at Yara International. Mr. Loquan moved to Australia three years later, where he served as CEO of Yara Pilbara.
One of 50 Distinguished UWI Alumni Awardees, Mr. Loquan is a former Director of the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business and the Copyright Organisation of Trinidad and Tobago (COTT), former Vice Chairman of the Point Lisas Energy Association (PLEA), and former Advisory Council Member for Arts, Letters, Culture and Public Affairs at the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT). A passionate pannist, he is also an Honorary Founding Director of the nonprofit organisation the Music Literacy Trust, and served as the Musical Director of the first resident steelband in Perth, Western Australia – Perth Pandemix.

Vice President, Finance and Information Management
Narinejit Pariag assumed the position of Vice President, Finance, Information and Management at NGC in March 2016.
Prior to that he held the position of Vice President, Finance and Administration at National Energy Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago Limited, a 100% owned subsidiary of NGC. Mr Pariag has over 20 years’ experience in the field of Finance and Accounting, having previously worked for private sector corporations.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA), a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago (ICATT), and holds an Executive Masters in Business Administration.
Vice President, Gas Transmission and Distribution
Ronald Adams assumed the office of VP Gas Transmission and Distribution at NGC in 2016, after serving as Operations Manager at NGC CNG Company Limited.
Mr. Adams is a Senior Operations and Business Development Executive with more than twenty-three years of experience in the oil and gas (upstream, mid-stream and downstream) sectors, having held senior positions in Operations Management, Process Engineering Management and Specialty Chemicals Applications Management in large organizations in Trinidad and the USA. Before joining the NGC Group in 2014, Mr. Adams held portfolios at Athlon Solutions (previously Champion Technologies), PETROTRIN, Ashland Chemicals, NUCOR Iron Carbide and PCS Nitrogen Trinidad Ltd.

Olave Maria Thorne
Vice President, Corporate Compliance and Governance
Ms. Thorne joined the Company in 1985 as an Assistant Legal Advisor. She went on to hold the position of Head, Legal Services and later, Manager Legal and Commercial Services for a number of years before being appointed to the position of Vice President, Legal and Corporate Management. She assumed her current portfolio in November 2016.
Before joining NGC, Ms. Thorne worked as an associate with a legal firm and also as Company Secretary and Legal Advisor to the Emile Elias Group of Companies.

Vice President, Legal and Corporate Affairs
Mr. Subryan joined NGC in 2010 as Legal Counsel and was soon thereafter appointed Manager of Legal and Corporate Secretariat Services. In addition to fulfilling the responsibilities of this portfolio, he served as Company Secretary for the National Energy Skills Centre (NESC) from January 2011 to present, Company Secretary for Trinidad and Tobago LNG Limited, NGC Trinidad and Tobago LNG Limited and NGC E&P Investments Limited from June 2013 to present and Company Secretary for NGC CNG Company Limited and Trinidad and Tobago NGL Limited from September 2013 to present.
Mr. Subryan came to NGC from M.G. Daly and Partners, where he worked as a Partner in the Conveyancing and Commercial Department, after moving through various positions at different firms.

Senior Manager, HSE and Security
Curt Cadet was appointed Senior Manager, HSE and Security at NGC as of 3rd January 2017. Mr. Cadet has over 30 years’ experience in the manufacturing and energy sectors, with the last 20 years dedicated to Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE).
He started his career as an apprentice in the mechanical trade and moved on to work in the Instrument & Controls (I&C) Department at Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (TTEC) which allowed for his transition into the HSSE field in 1995. He is the holder of a NEBOSH Certificate – Safety in Oil & Gas Operations (with credit), a NEBOSH National General Certificate (with credit), a NEBOSH Level 6 and Level 4 National Diploma.
Mr. Cadet has held several high-level positions in the HSSE field, for several companies such as: Actavo In-home and Network Division; Yara Trinidad Limited; ASCO Caribbean & South America; Nu-Iron; POWERGEN and TTEC. He has worked in a number of countries including Jamaica, USA, Curacao and Trinidad and Tobago.
Prior to joining The NGC Group, Mr. Cadet was Head of Safety, Health, Environment & Quality for the Caribbean Region at Actavo In-home and Network Division, a Company with headquarters in the Republic of Ireland. As a member of the Company’s Executive Leadership Team for the Caribbean, Mr. Cadet was responsible for strategic planning and organisation structure; performance management; programme and policy review, revision and implementation; and regulatory compliance, with direct supervision of 11 persons in four countries.

Senior manager, Engineering and Construction Services
Ernest Esdelle assumed the position of Senior Manager, Engineering Services (Ag.) on December 1, 2016. He has been employed with NGC for the past 25 years. During this time, he has functioned in multiple leadership positions within the Engineering and Construction Divisions. He was either part of a team or led some of the Company’s major developmental assignments including pipeline, gas plant, road and building construction projects.
Mr Esdelle is an integral member of The NGC Group’s venture into Africa, firstly to Kenya and Uganda in 2012/2013 and currently, exploring possibilities with Ghana. In 2016, he was appointed a member of the Local Content Committee of The Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries.
Ernest is a registered Civil Engineer under the Board of Engineering, Trinidad and Tobago and a certified Project Management Professional with the Project Management Institute. As a Project Management Professional, he has authored or co-authored technical papers for PMI Southern Caribbean Chapter’s biannual Project Management Conferences in 2007 and 2011.
Mr. Esdelle has been a part-time lecturer with The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) since 2008, where he lectures on project management and construction-related courses in the Bachelor of Applied Science Programme in Civil Engineering.
Effective December, 2016 Mr. Esdelle was appointed a member of UTT’s Programme Advisory Council.

Manager, Human Resources Division
Mrs. Sylvester-London joined NGC in 1995 and served as an Information Assistant and a Training Officer before being promoted to the post of Head, Human Resource Planning in 2001. As part of her portfolio, Ms. Sylvester-London was responsible for, inter alia, identifying and tracking manpower requirements, developing, recommending and evaluating recruitment strategies, policies and procedures and implementing procedures to ensure the achievement of the organization’s manpower objectives.
In 2015, Mrs. Sylvester-London was appointed Manager, Human Resources Division (Ag.) with responsibility for directing the performance of the HR Division to ensure high quality service delivery in all functional areas of HR management at the operational and strategic levels including Manpower Planning, Recruitment and Selection, Compensation Management, Wellness Management, Training and Development, Employee Relations and Performance Management.

Manager, Corporate Communications
Lisa Burkett was appointed Manager, Corporate Communications on October 5th 2016.
She has over 25 years’ experience in the Public Relations and Communications field, having started her career in the Advertising industry. Lisa first came to NGC as a Public Relations Assistant and was promoted to Public Relations Officer in 1996. In 2011 she was appointed Head, Internal Communications.
Over her career at NGC, Lisa was responsible for corporate, stakeholder and community events; media engagement; leadership networking; publicity and promotions to support CSR programmes and most recently, internal communications.
Lisa Burkett is a former President of the Public Relations Association of Trinidad and Tobago and has lectured for several years on Public Relations, Marketing and Advertising at UWI Roytec.
An avid reader and film enthusiast, Lisa has sought to give back to society by being involved in the Past Pupils’ Association of her Alma Mater, serving as an executive member for several years, and as its President for the period 2011-2015.
