The Prime Minister of Barbados Visits NGC  
The Honourable David Thompson, newly elected Prime Minister of Barbados, visited The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC) on February 20, 2008 as part of his first official visit to the country.

Mr. Thompson lead a team of officials which comprised his Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and International Business, Mr. Christopher Peter Sinckler, the Caricom Ambassador-designate and Member of Parliament, Mr. Dennis Kellman, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Teresa Marshall and Permanent Secretary, Defence and Security, Office of the Prime Minister, Ms. Antoinette Williams.     

Trinidad and Tobago’s Minister of State in the Ministry of Planning, Housing and the Environment, Senator the Honourable Tina Gronlund-Nunez, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries, Mr. Leroy Mayers and the Chief Protocol Officer from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Trinidad and Tobago, Ms. Sandra Honore accompanied the distinguished visitors.

The group met members of the NGC Board and executive and heard presentations from NGC’s President (Ag.) Ms. Maria Thorne; National Energy Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NEC) President, Mr. Prakash R. Saith; the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Planning, Housing and the Environment, Ms. Esme Rawlins-Charles and eTeck’s Vice President, Business Development, Ms. Wendy Fitzwilliam.

After the presentations, the Prime Minister of Barbados and his party, accompanied by NGC’s Vice President, Gas Transmission and Distribution, Mr. Stephen Julien, embarked on an aerial tour of the world renowned Point Lisas Industrial Estate before returning to Port of Spain.
